About Us

Linda J. Vilardo, founder of MPowerment Consulting, has 35 years of experience as a legal and business advisor.    She is a graduate of Gettysburg College, received a graduate diploma from the University of Glasgow, and obtained her law degree from The National Law Center at George Washington University.

She is personally familiar with forming and maintaining a business having launched her own law firm which became profitable in its first year, grew from two to 20 employees in less than three years, and merged with a larger company after five years in business.

A short time after the law firm merger she joined Urban One, a national multi-media company, as a senior executive. Urban One, founded in 1980, is the largest distributor of content focused on and curated for the  African-American community.  While at the company, she developed and implemented the company's strategic plan, including its first ever mission statement, participated in revenue growth from $20M to $500M and 250 to 1,300 employees, analyzed risk for regulatory and corporate compliance, negotiated contracts, settlements, leases and over $2B in asset acquisitions, evaluated complex problems to identify optimal solutions, realized significant operating efficiencies and expense controls, built a culture of transparency, and managed external and internal communications.
